40til5 #82: channel Green

In this weeks episode we gather around the microphone to consume weed and discuss shit. We get all "stoner deep" on topics such as the end of the world and the legalization of our beloved plant in two states this past November, before we go off on typical "stoner tangents" that threaten to run the episode off the rails. Then in segment two we get down and nerdy... Among the things that came up are The League, Days of Future Past, Chronicle, The Walking Dead: The Game, Waking Mars, and lots of other stuff. Please to enjoy as you usually do. Now, legally in two states.

40til5 @ Cannabis Cup 2012

Hash is my favorite part about this trip. We just dont get the types of handmade hash they get here, at least enough for most people to see them. Biggest reason I would recommend Amsterdam as far as coffeeshops goes.
Been doing most of the of juding today. After thoroughly testing 16 strains and 12 hashes im fuckin' BLAZED, STONED ERRLD, all that shit! Lots of pictures coming up tonight. Who else is feelin' it like I am tonight? Cup ENDS TOMORROW!
Girl Scout Cookies-from The Funky Munky
Damn, the 'Cookies' are fire! Keep your eyes out for these, I have a feeling they're going to be big.
OGxDurban Poision X Cherry KushxOG
Along with the taste of a good OG, you'll catch flavors of cherry, vanilla, mint, and citrus.
Geekin over this weed right now. Sometimes with the bud I have been smoking on, different hits will have stronger bits of one flavor than the next one and so on. I had one that started with a really strong cherry flavor and then had more of a citrus and then it moved through some layers of kush/og/afghani flavors. This is the type of stuff thats good enough to get someone in trouble because they A)buy it so frequently they forget where they put a bud or B)Start to imagine themselves getting away with bringing some home. After the way they bent me over the last time I came home, I wouldn't try it. Maybe with seeds or a tiny bit of hash i guess. But with what we have at home, its at least close enough its not worth it.
I think this is the winner. 95% im going to vote for this one. Look for it as the centerfold of this months high times and one of their top ten strains of the year. good luck finding any though. cuts are going for several thousand and lbs are wholesaleing around 5k in san fran according to HT.
Starbuds Sister from Coffeeshop Voyagers
So far best i've found in the 'dam. When you smell it, you get a mix of diesel and headband IMO. Tastes like it smells. The best part? Voyagers happens to be the closest coffeeshop to my hotel. Win!

S-5 Haze from Homegrown Fantasy
S-5 Haze.
This is one of my favorite strains in Amsterdam that I don't see in the U.S.

Shoreline-from Devils Harvest Seeds
Bought this at Greenplace (NOT Green House), they were selling devils harvests stuff. They also had a good Og #18 they were calling MOG, and some pretty decent full melt/mostly full melt. I dont have a very good full melt set up so I probably wont be able to get any shots of any of the domes.
White Widow from Homegrown Fantasy
Casey Jones-Stones Cafe
Loved this stuff. Probably my second favorite cup entry so far.

Lemon Haze-Cafe New Times
Kali Mist-Coffeeshop Keteltje
Big Buddha Cheese-Russland
AMG Haze-Prix D'Ami
Pineapple Haze-Amsterdam Coffee (Dampkring's sister shop) All of their stuff had great flavors.
420 Haze-from 420 Cafe
About to test this out right now. The last one I have to test right now (I still have 6 or 7 shops to go to for the cup and a few more seed entries. Plus there are a few things I want to buy a little more of (The Cookies and Starbuds Sister and Casey Jones for now)
Tasted like straight haze or maybe SSH.
OG #18 from Bluebird
Some of the green dust on some AMG Kush I picked up at Prix D'Ami.
This ROOR was rented at the ROOR shop in Amsterdam, when I found out they rented it was an easy decision. A lot of the shops do have pipes but not all, I usually smoke hash or other extracts or concentrates out of a bong, I think thats pretty common through the US but in Europe it seems more common to smoke dry extracts or hash in joints. For me a bong was pretty necessary with all the hash we need to tear through and the ROOR shop is pretty dope itself. Had an interesting chat with the guys working there about how Concentrates are technically illegal in Holland so Oil, Wax, etc are not sold in most coffeeshops although some do and sell them as import hash. Word on the streets is there is some around the cup though....

Some kief/dry extract from Homegrown Fantasy. I think it was called Green Dust. Its ok, but it was only 15 Euro so not a bad price (most 'cannabis' is 12-15 Euro)
Some hash from Dampkring, super pliable and sticky. Bubbled like mad, but I can't figure out what kind of extract it is. Put the bag there so you could see the battle wound it left on it.
Sharkberry Creme-Green House
Creme is a type of charas hash. Handmade by rubbing colas in your hands. Made in India and Pakistan. Creme usually come from the Manala region of the Himalayas. They say a farmer making good charas (creme) can make 1 to 2 grams a day. Thats two. Its all a matter of perspective I guess. If you saw how he lived you might be pretty jealous.
Grey Crystal-Grey Area Coffeeshop
Dry Sift Hash. Grey Area is a small but awesome Coffeeshop. Its Star Trek themed and the only coffeshop in Amsterdam thats owned by an American to my knowledge. It gets pretty busy during the cup though so thats too bad.

Dutch Moonshine-Dampkring
Love this stuff. I bought a half gram and smoked it the first night and had to go back and get a gram the next day. The first batch was more dry and easier to melt but I didnt get a picture before It was gondola (similar to '09 when i came to the cup). About to roll a giant snake of this into a spliff of cookies and get lifted.
Twizzla Hash from Green Place
MOG water hash from Green Place
STUFF! The Cannabis Cup is like a weed carshow, everybody wants to give you stuff with their name on it,
and other things to make you want to be their friend.

40til5 #81: The Election Special

In this episode we talk about the election, like a lot, but since it is election day that makes sense. What else would we talk about? We talk about the Presidential vote, as well as the Minnesota amendments on the ballot, all as the results are being tallied. In the second segment we also talk about Once Upon a Time and the Star Wars news the internet has exploded over. Election tangents pop up here and there throughout the second segment. We finished recording before the results were in, so let us say here: Four More Years!

40til5 #79: Lesbian Sourfruit

In this episode we smoke weed and talk politics, all while hardly even bring up legalization at all. But first, it's story time with Bubbles... Then, in segment two, we discuss varied pop culture touchstones such as Eastbound and Down, The West Wing, The New Avengers, Red Hulk, Deadpool, State of Decay, DayZ, the iOS Jurassic Park game, and the iOS gem Gasketball. With all that content, you may be surprised to see that the show came in under two hours. Which is funny... because it didn't. Please to Enjoy!

In this episode we're a couple minutes late, but since it's only 4/22, we'll still smoke with you. This year was just a joint, and only Bubbles and I were there, but we decided to share it anyway. Hope everyone had a high holiday weekend! Happy 4/20!
